How Magic Eraser (Remove Objects) works

The area you paint is cut out together with the pixels around it, scaled to 512 × 512 and filled in by LaMa (Large Mask Inpainting, Apache-2.0) running with ONNX Runtime Web, on the GPU when your browser supports WebGPU and on the CPU otherwise. Only the painted area is replaced, with a soft edge, so the rest of the photo stays at full quality. The model (about 208 MB) is downloaded once and cached in your browser.

Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, TIFF, AVIF. Output: PNG, JPG, WEBP.

How to use Magic Eraser (Remove Objects)

Drop a photo.
Paint over what you want to remove. Use Unpaint to fix the mask.
Press Remove and wait a few seconds.
Repeat for more objects, then download the result.

Tips

Cover the whole object plus a little margin, including its shadow.
Remove large things in a few smaller passes for cleaner results.
Hold "Hold for original" to compare with the photo you started with.
