Photo Enhancer

Fix dull, dark, noisy or soft photos in one click: auto levels, white balance, denoise, sharpen, face-friendly smoothing and optional AI 2× upscale.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Photo Enhancer works

Every step runs on your device. White balance removes colour casts from the mid-tones, auto levels stretches the tonal range, a tone curve lifts shadows and recovers highlights, an edge-preserving guided filter removes noise without blurring edges, and an unsharp mask sharpens brightness only so no colour fringes appear. Face friendly mode finds skin tones and smooths them gently while sharpening them less. The optional 2× upscale uses the same Swin2SR AI model as the Image Upscaler.

Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, TIFF, AVIF. Output: JPG, PNG, WEBP.

How to use Photo Enhancer

  1. Drop a photo.
  2. Pick a style such as Auto, Portrait, Old photo or Low light.
  3. Fine-tune the sliders while comparing before and after.
  4. Turn on AI upscale if you need a bigger image, then download.

Tips

  • Old photo works well on faded scans. Follow up with Colorize for black and white pictures.
  • Keep Reduce noise low on sharp daylight photos, and raise it for phone shots taken at night.

Photo Enhancer FAQ

Is my file uploaded?
No. Everything runs in this browser tab on your own device. Engines are downloaded once and cached, but your files never leave your computer.
Can it fix a badly blurred photo?
It makes soft photos look crisper, but it cannot recover detail that was never captured, such as heavy motion blur.
Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
