MHTML Viewer
Open .mhtml and .mht saved web pages without a browser extension, pull out the pictures, or save them as plain HTML.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How MHTML Viewer works
The archive is split into its MIME parts (quoted printable and base64 are decoded), links between them are pointed at the stored copies, scripts are removed with DOMPurify, and the page is shown in a locked frame with no network access.
Input: MHTML, MHT. Output: HTML, ZIP, PNG, JPG.
How to use MHTML Viewer
- Drop an .mhtml or .mht file.
- Read the page, the list of files or the plain text.
- Save one HTML file, all files as a ZIP, or the pictures.
Tips
- Conversions run entirely in your tab, so very large files depend on your device’s memory.
- For best fidelity, start from the original digital file rather than a scan.
MHTML Viewer FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
