How Office Viewer works

Word files are drawn page by page with docx-preview (Apache-2.0), spreadsheets with SheetJS, and slides with a built-in PPTX renderer for text, pictures, tables and shapes. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use Office Viewer

Tips

• Conversions run entirely in your tab, so very large files depend on your device’s memory.
• For best fidelity, start from the original digital file rather than a scan.

Are my files uploaded?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.

Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?

Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
