GIF Frame Editor
Reorder, delete, duplicate and retime frames, set loop count, add frames, then save as GIF, APNG, WebP or video.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How GIF Frame Editor works
Animations are decoded into full frames in your browser (GIF with gifuct-js, APNG with UPNG.js, WebP frames with the browser decoder), edited, then written back out. GIF is encoded with gifenc plus our own frame optimiser; WebP, MP4 and WebM go through ffmpeg.wasm.
Input: GIF, APNG, WEBP, AVIF. Output: GIF, APNG, WEBP, MP4, WEBM.
How to use GIF Frame Editor
- Drop an animation.
- Drag frames to reorder, select frames to delete or duplicate, and type a delay under any frame.
- Set the loop and choose an output format.
Tips
- Shift-click frames to select several.
- Hold last +1s is handy for a pause before the loop restarts.
- Undo keeps your last 30 changes.
GIF Frame Editor FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
