GIF Speed, Reverse & Cut

Speed up or slow down an animation, play it backwards or as a boomerang, and cut a frame range.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How GIF Speed, Reverse & Cut works

Animations are decoded into full frames in your browser (GIF with gifuct-js, APNG with UPNG.js, WebP frames with the browser decoder), edited, then written back out. GIF is encoded with gifenc plus our own frame optimiser; WebP, MP4 and WebM go through ffmpeg.wasm. Viewers cannot show frames shorter than 20 ms, so very fast speeds merge frames instead of producing a GIF that plays slower than expected.

Input: GIF, APNG, WEBP, AVIF. Output: GIF, APNG, WEBP, MP4, WEBM.

How to use GIF Speed, Reverse & Cut

  1. Drop one or more images onto GIF Speed, Reverse & Cut.
  2. Tune the options. The before/after preview updates live.
  3. Process the batch.
  4. Download a single image, or everything as a ZIP.

Tips

  • Most image tools accept many files at once.
  • WebP and AVIF give much smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality.
  • Set a default image quality in Settings. Tools that do not choose their own quality use it.
