Checksum Manifest (SHA256SUMS)

Create or verify SHA256SUMS, MD5SUMS and SFV checksum files for many files at once.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Checksum Manifest (SHA256SUMS) works

Each file is hashed in 8 MB pieces with hash-wasm, so large files work without filling memory. Verify reads GNU, BSD and SFV lines, matches files by name, and marks each one as a match, changed or missing.

Input: Any file, SHA256, MD5, SFV. Output: SHA256, MD5, SFV.

How to use Checksum Manifest (SHA256SUMS)

  1. Pick Create or Verify.
  2. Drop the files (and the checksum file for Verify).
  3. Download the manifest or read the results.

Tips

  • Nothing is uploaded. Your files stay in this browser tab.

Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
