Secret Note Link

Turn a password or private message into an encrypted link that only opens in the browser, with an optional password and expiry.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Secret Note Link works

Everything runs in your browser. Files and text are never uploaded, so the private data you are protecting never leaves your device. The note is compressed and sealed with AES-256-GCM. The key sits after the # in the link, which browsers never send to any server.

Input: Text. Output: Link, QR.

How to use Secret Note Link

  1. Type the secret.
  2. Add a password and expiry if you like.
  3. Press Create secret link.
  4. Send the link, and the password a different way.

Tips

  • Nothing is uploaded, so you can use these tools on sensitive files.
  • Share passwords a different way than the file itself.
  • Always check a cleaned or redacted file before you send it.

Secret Note Link FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
