Encrypt / Decrypt Text & Files
Password-protect text or any file with AES-256-GCM, ChaCha20-Poly1305 or OpenSSL-compatible AES.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How Encrypt / Decrypt Text & Files works
A 256-bit key is derived from your password with PBKDF2-SHA256 and a random salt, then the data is encrypted with the Web Crypto API (AES) or @noble/ciphers (ChaCha20). OpenSSL mode matches openssl enc -aes-256-cbc -pbkdf2 so files open on the command line too.
Input: Any file. Output: OFENC, ENC, Base64.
