PDF to SVG
Turn PDF pages into SVG files with sharp vector shapes, real text and the original fonts, ready to edit.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How PDF to SVG works
PDF.js reads the drawing commands of each page and a built-in writer turns them into SVG: paths, strokes, dashes, clipping, linear and radial gradients, pictures and text. Embedded fonts are copied into the SVG so it looks the same, with an invisible copy of the text so you can still search and copy it. An image mode is there for pages with effects that SVG cannot show.
Input: PDF. Output: SVG, ZIP.
How to use PDF to SVG
- Drop a PDF.
- Check the live preview and choose Vector or Image with text layer.
- Pick the pages, then convert. Several pages come as a ZIP.
Tips
- Turn off font embedding if you want to edit the words in a design app.
- Tiled patterns and soft masks are simplified. The preview shows a note when that happens.
PDF to SVG FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
