Document Leak Checker

See names, GPS, comments, tracked changes, hidden sheets, emails and keys inside files before you share them.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Document Leak Checker works

Everything runs in your browser. Files and text are never uploaded, so the private data you are protecting never leaves your device. Each file type is opened and checked for the usual leaks: authors and companies, tracked changes, comments, hidden sheets and text, earlier PDF versions, scripts, camera GPS and personal data in the text.

Input: DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, TXT, CSV. Output: TXT.

How to use Document Leak Checker

  1. Drop the files you plan to send.
  2. Read the high, medium and low findings.
  3. Open the suggested cleaner for anything serious.

Tips

  • Nothing is uploaded, so you can use these tools on sensitive files.
  • Share passwords a different way than the file itself.
  • Always check a cleaned or redacted file before you send it.

Document Leak Checker FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
