Geofence Checker

Find which points in a CSV fall inside zones from GeoJSON or KML polygons, or within a distance of a place.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Geofence Checker works

Tracks and coordinates are read in your browser. Map tiles are only fetched if you switch the map background on; your file stays here. Uses a ray casting point in polygon test, with holes and multi polygons handled.

Input: CSV, XLSX, GeoJSON, KML, KMZ. Output: CSV.

How to use Geofence Checker

  1. Paste or open points with coordinates.
  2. Draw a radius or drop polygon zones.
  3. See inside and outside on the map.
  4. Download the tagged CSV.

Tips

  • The map has no background tiles by default, so your location area is not sent anywhere. Turn on the map background if you want street detail.
  • Most watches and apps export GPX. Look for Export or Share in the activity menu.

Geofence Checker FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
