CSV to Map

Plot rows with latitude and longitude on a map, colour them by a column, and export KML, GPX or GeoJSON.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How CSV to Map works

Tracks and coordinates are read in your browser. Map tiles are only fetched if you switch the map background on; your file stays here. Latitude and longitude columns are found by name, and every other column is kept as a property of each point.

Input: CSV, XLSX, ODS. Output: KML, GPX, GeoJSON.

How to use CSV to Map

  1. Paste CSV or open a spreadsheet.
  2. Check the latitude, longitude and name columns.
  3. Pick a column to colour by.
  4. Download KML, GPX or GeoJSON.

Tips

  • The map has no background tiles by default, so your location area is not sent anywhere. Turn on the map background if you want street detail.
  • Most watches and apps export GPX. Look for Export or Share in the activity menu.

CSV to Map FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
