Font Viewer & Inspector

Inspect TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 fonts: glyph grid, metrics, name table, OpenType features and a live type tester.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Font Viewer & Inspector works

The font is parsed with opentype.js to list every glyph, its outline, metrics and the name table. The type tester uses the browser's own font engine with font-feature-settings, so OpenType features render exactly as on a website.

Input: TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2. Output: SVG.

How to use Font Viewer & Inspector

  1. Drop a font file.
  2. Type your own text in the tester and change size and spacing.
  3. Browse or search the glyphs and click one for details.
  4. Turn OpenType features on and off.

Tips

  • Search glyphs by character, name or code point such as u+00e9.
  • Save any glyph as an SVG for icons or logos.

Font Viewer & Inspector FAQ

Is my file uploaded?
No. Everything runs in this browser tab on your own device. Engines are downloaded once and cached, but your files never leave your computer.
Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
