CSV to Excel

Make a proper XLSX or ODS from CSV files with numbers as numbers, a frozen bold header, filters and fitted columns.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How CSV to Excel works

Files are opened in your browser with SheetJS and JSZip. Nothing is uploaded, and your original file is never changed. The separator and text encoding are detected. Codes with leading zeros, like 007, stay as text.

Input: CSV, TSV, TXT. Output: XLSX, ODS.

How to use CSV to Excel

  1. Drop CSV files.
  2. Check the separator and encoding.
  3. Choose header and filter options.
  4. Press Make workbook.

Tips

  • Excel, ODS and CSV all work. Formulas are read as their last saved values.
  • For CSV files with odd characters, save them as UTF-8 first.

Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
