PDF to RTF
Convert PDF text into an RTF document with paragraphs, headings, lists, tables and images kept.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How PDF to RTF works
Text and layout are read with PDF.js, rebuilt into paragraphs, headings, lists and tables, and written as Rich Text Format by a small built-in writer. Pages without text are embedded as PNG pictures.
Input: PDF. Output: RTF.
How to use PDF to RTF

- Adjust page size, quality or layout options in the side panel.
- Check the live preview.
- Convert and download the result.
Tips
- Conversions run entirely in your tab, so very large files depend on your device’s memory.
- For best fidelity, start from the original digital file rather than a scan.
PDF to RTF FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
