Jupyter Notebook Converter

View .ipynb notebooks without Jupyter and save them as HTML, PDF, Markdown or a Python script, or turn a script back into a notebook.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Jupyter Notebook Converter works

The notebook JSON is read cell by cell. Code is coloured with highlight.js, Markdown cells are rendered, and saved outputs (text, tables, charts, errors) are shown as they were. Scripts use # %% cell markers, which VS Code, Spyder and Jupytext understand.

Input: IPYNB, PY. Output: HTML, PDF, Markdown, PY, IPYNB.

How to use Jupyter Notebook Converter

  1. Drop an .ipynb file (or a .py with # %% cells).
  2. Check the preview.
  3. Pick HTML, PDF, Markdown or script, and download.

Tips

  • Nothing is run. To refresh outputs, run the notebook in Jupyter or Colab first.

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
