Image DPI Changer
Check and change the DPI of JPG and PNG files, or resize to an exact size in cm, mm or inches.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How Image DPI Changer works
DPI is a number stored in the file (JFIF and EXIF for JPEG, the pHYs chunk for PNG) that tells printers how big to print. Change DPI only rewrites that number and keeps every pixel. Resize makes a new image of exactly the print size you ask for, at that DPI.
Input: JPG, PNG. Output: JPG, PNG.
How to use Image DPI Changer
- Drop a JPG or PNG.
- Read the current DPI and print size.
- Pick a new DPI, or a print size in cm, mm or inches.
- Download the file.
Tips
- Most image tools accept many files at once.
- WebP and AVIF give much smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality.
- Set a default image quality in Settings. Tools that do not choose their own quality use it.

- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
