Repair GIF
Recover cut-off or damaged GIFs by keeping every frame that can still be read and writing a clean file.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How Repair GIF works
The structure is checked block by block. Missing end markers are added, a cut-off last frame is closed so its top part survives, and the frames are re-encoded into a fresh file.
Input: GIF. Output: GIF, WEBP, APNG, MP4.
How to use Repair GIF
- Drop one or more images onto Repair GIF.
- Tune the options. The before/after preview updates live.
- Process the batch.
- Download a single image, or everything as a ZIP.
Tips
- Most image tools accept many files at once.
- WebP and AVIF give much smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality.
- Set a default image quality in Settings. Tools that do not choose their own quality use it.
Repair GIF FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
