How Find & Replace Text works

Each rule is turned into a search pattern and applied from top to bottom as you type. Matches of the first rule are highlighted so you can check before you copy. In bulk mode you paste a list of pairs like colour => color.

Input: Text, TXT, CSV, MD. Output: Text.

How to use Find & Replace Text

1. Paste or open your text.
2. Add find and replace rules, or paste a bulk list.
3. Check the highlighted matches.
4. Copy or download the result.

Tips

• Type \n in the replacement to insert a new line.
• With regular expressions, $1 and $2 insert the groups you captured.

Are my files uploaded?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.

Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?

Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
