How EMF & WMF Converter works
The metafile records are played back by the rtf.js EMF and WMF engines (MIT) into an SVG drawing, then trimmed to the picture. PNG and JPG are drawn from that SVG at the size you pick, and PDF keeps the drawing as vectors with svg2pdf.
