HL7 & EDI Viewer
Read HL7 v2, X12 and EDIFACT messages as a clear table of segments and fields, and export JSON.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How HL7 & EDI Viewer works
The separators are read from the message itself (MSH for HL7, the fixed ISA header for X12, UNA for EDIFACT), then every segment is split into fields, repeats and components, with common segment names and a summary of who sent what.
Input: HL7, EDI, X12, TXT. Output: JSON.
How to use HL7 & EDI Viewer
- Drop or paste a message.
- Open segments to read their fields, or search.
- Download the parsed message as JSON.
Tips
- Nothing is uploaded. Your files stay in this browser tab.
HL7 & EDI Viewer FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
