How DXF Viewer works
The DXF is parsed with the open-source dxf library (MIT), which expands blocks, arcs, splines and polylines into line work. The drawing is drawn with Canvas 2D, grouped by layer, so you can hide layers, zoom and measure with the real drawing units.

How to use DXF Viewer
- Drop a DXF file.
- Drag to pan, scroll to zoom, and press 0 to fit.
- Toggle layers on the right.
- Use the ruler to measure between two points, or save the visible layers as SVG.
Tips
- DWG files must be exported to DXF first from your CAD program (any DXF version works).
- Hatches are shown as outlines and text uses a generic font.

- Is my file uploaded?
- No. Everything runs in this browser tab on your own device. Engines are downloaded once and cached, but your files never leave your computer.
- Can it open DWG?
- Not yet. DWG is a closed binary format. Save the drawing as DXF in AutoCAD, LibreCAD, FreeCAD or any CAD program.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
