Column Extractor
Pull, reorder or swap columns from CSV, TSV, logs or any delimited text.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How Column Extractor works
Each line is split on the delimiter (detected for you, and quoted values stay together), then the columns you pick are joined with the output separator. It works like the Unix cut command, without a terminal.
Input: CSV, TSV, TXT, LOG. Output: CSV, TSV, Text.
How to use Column Extractor
- Paste or open your text.
- Click column numbers or type a list like 3,1.
- Pick the output separator.
- Copy or download.
Tips
- Text never leaves your device, so it is safe for drafts and private notes.
Column Extractor FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
